Q: What is a pathologist?

A: A type of of physician who uses a microscope and other modalities to diagnose disease.


Q: What is pathology?

A: The study of how disease, injury, and aging affects the fluids and tissues of the body.


Q: What is a forensic pathologist?

A: A pathologist with additional subspecialty training directed at investigating deaths of medico legal significance.


Q: How long does an autopsy take to complete?

A: Usually 1-3 hours. We routinely schedule autopsies within 24 hours of request and promptly release bodies to funeral homes. A final report is generated in 2-4 weeks in most cases.


Q: Will An autopsy affect an"open casket" burial?

A: No. Our incisions are made in such a manner that they will not be visible during a viewing.


Q: How long does it take for me to receive a diagnosis on my slides or tissue?

A: In most cases, a report will be generated next business day for cases received in our laboratory prior to 4:30 PM.


Q: Are your services covered by insurance?

A: CPA is credentialed by many insurance companies; please contact us for additional information. Autopsies are not covered by most insurance plans-payment is due prior to initiation of the procedure.


Q: Does CPA offer clinic billing?

A: Yes. Attractive billing options are available for clinic accounts.
