We routinely schedule autopsies within 24 hours of request and promptly release bodies to funeral homes. A final report is generated in 2-4 weeks in most cases. Q: Will An autopsy affect an"open casket" burial? A: No. Our incisions are made in such a manner that they will not be visible during a viewing. Q: How long does it take for me to receive a diagnosis on my slides or tissue? A: In most cases, a report will be generated next business day for cases received in our laboratory prior to 4:30 PM.
